Annual General Meeting: Friday 24 September 2021

Apologies for any confusion from previous mailings, our AGM this year will be held at 7.00 pm on Friday 24 September with the online waiting room open from 6.45pm. After the experience gained last year, we have decided that we will again hold the meeting using Zoom: we know that some local Members will feel a bit disappointed, but the advantages for people further away as well as the impact on carbon emissions make us confident that this is the right decision.

If you are an LCG Member, please click here to sign up for the AGM online.

Please note that this link is for LCG Members only and you will be asked to confirm that you are eligible during the sign-up process. Non-Members will be able to watch a live stream of the meeting on our Facebook page here.

Our speaker for the 2021 AGM is the renowned environmentalist, Jonathon Porritt, who is the founder of Forum for the Future.

Jonathon has also been Director of Friends of the Earth, co-chair of the Green Party and Chairman of the UK Sustainable Development Commission. His latest book is ‘Hope in Hell’ (click here to find out more on Jonathon’s website) which he describes as the hardest book he’s ever written “because we’ve left everything so late”. Nevertheless, as the title suggests, this book deals with the positive transformation that can and must occur in this decisive decade.

There will also be news of our latest round of Community Benefit Fund awards and statutory AGM business. There were four nominations received for four board places so there is no need to hold an election this year, all four nominees will be ratified as Directors at the AGM. The Agenda, last year’s minutes and Self-nomination statements are below.
