LCG members 2019 AGM

The Annual General Meeting of Low Carbon Gordano will be held on Friday 27th September 2019, at  Nailsea School Auditorium, Mizzymead Road, Nailsea, BS48 2HN, starting at 7:15pm

The meeting will include short presentations from students who have joined school climate strikes and members of the Nailsea Extinction Rebellion group; and from Bridget Appleby who runs a Community Interest Company called Sustainabubbles which aims to help people understand climate change and think about how they can help defeat it. There will be news of our latest round of Community Benefit Fund awards, and input from students who helped install solar systems in Kenya with our chosen development charity Mend The Gap.

The meeting will open at 6:45pm for registration when you will be able to look at displays set up by these various groups and talk informally to them and us, enjoy a glass of Fairtrade wine, fruit juice, or tea and coffee, and chat to other members. We have chosen this year’s venue in part because it enables us to use ‘cafe-style’ seating and create a more informal atmosphere and we will aim to ensure that there is plenty of time for questions and answers, and discussion.

At the end of the meeting there will be the election of directors to the board. This year there are three vacancies. If you are considering standing please contact Paul Thurston or Bob Langton to find out more.

Details about the election and the self-nomination form can be found at the end of this page.

Election of Directors

The position of director is an important one in LCG. Under its rules a third of the elected directors must retire each year. This year existing directors Jon Gething and Ervin Bossanyi will be stepping down and not seeking re-election. In addition Bob Langton will be stepping down and has indicated that he will be seeking re-election to one of the three vacant places that will exist.

If any member of the Society wishes to stand for election to these vacancies they will need to complete the self-nomination form below and send it to the Society Secretary by midnight on Tuesday 24 September 2019.
